Shops we fund

Sixteen kinds of shop. One set of criteria.

Liftbay Capital funds every corner of the independent automotive trade — repair, collision, tire, glass, fleet, towing — including used-car dealers and buy-here-pay-here lots, which most lenders decline by industry code. The criteria are the same for all of them: $15,000 a month in deposits, 6 months in business, no minimum credit score for working capital. Insurance checks and fleet remittances count.

Independent general repair shops

Two-to-eight-bay independents doing brakes, suspension, diagnostics, A/C and drivability.

Typical request
$25,000 – $200,000
Finances
Lifts and alignment racks, scan tools, a new tech, parts inventory, the slow January and February.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
High ticket count and steady card settlements make a strong file. We size the payment against your slowest month in the window, so if winter is soft, send four statements and we underwrite the floor.

Collision & body shops

Independent and DRP collision repair, frame, paint and PDR.

Typical request
$50,000 – $500,000
Finances
Payroll and parts while carrier checks are outstanding, a paint booth or frame machine, a second location, a run of hail work.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
Insurer and DRP payments are deposits and count toward the approval. Expect us to ask about your carrier mix and supplement cycle, and to suggest a weekly debit that lands with payroll. When the checks clear, pay down early and keep up to 30% of the remaining cost.

Tire & wheel shops

Independent tire dealers, wheel and alignment shops, and tire-and-service combos.

Typical request
$25,000 – $250,000
Finances
The winter tire wall bought in the fall, tire changers and balancers, an alignment rack, a second store.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
Inventory you have already paid for sits on the wall until it sells, and that cycle repeats every year. If the build is seasonal and predictable, a line of credit opened in summer is usually cheaper than an advance in October. The guide walks through it.

Quick lube & oil change

Independent and franchised fast-service centers.

Typical request
$15,000 – $150,000
Finances
Oil and filter inventory, bay and pit work, a second unit, franchise fees.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
Many small tickets a day is the file an underwriter likes most. Franchisees should tell us the brand up front — most national brands are on the SBA Franchise Directory, which opens a cheaper path if the timeline allows.

Transmission & driveline specialists

Rebuilders, remanufacturers and driveline shops, including dealer sublet work.

Typical request
$25,000 – $250,000
Finances
Core and hard-parts inventory, dynos and lifts, payroll on long-cycle rebuilds, dealer sublet receivables.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
Big tickets with a long cycle from teardown to pickup means lumpy deposits. We read the balance between them, not the gaps. Dealer sublet invoices on net terms may be factorable.

Diesel & truck repair

Medium- and heavy-duty repair, fleet and owner-operator accounts.

Typical request
$50,000 – $500,000
Finances
Heavy lifts and jacks, diagnostic systems, parts inventory, fleet-account receivables, a larger building.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
Fleet and carrier accounts that pay net-30 or net-45 are the classic factoring fit. Many diesel shops run a factoring facility for the fleet side and working capital for the retail side.

European & import specialists

Independent shops focused on German, Swedish, Japanese or exotic marques.

Typical request
$25,000 – $200,000
Finances
Factory-level scan tools and software subscriptions, specialty tooling, parts deposits, a master tech.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
High average ticket, fewer tickets. Average daily balance matters more than top line here, and a shop that holds a floor between big jobs is a strong file.

Auto glass shops

Mobile and in-shop glass replacement, ADAS calibration.

Typical request
$15,000 – $150,000
Finances
Glass inventory, calibration targets and tooling, a second van, payroll while insurer billing clears.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
Nearly all of your revenue comes through insurers or third-party administrators weeks after the install. Those payments are deposits and count. Working capital or a line bridges the lag; most glass claim payments do not fit factoring.

Detailing, PPF & wraps

Detail shops, paint-protection film, ceramic coating and vehicle wrap installers.

Typical request
$15,000 – $100,000
Finances
Film and coating inventory, a plotter, a second bay or booth, dealer reconditioning payroll.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
Dealer reconditioning accounts billed on terms may be factorable. Retail detail tickets are underwritten as deposits like any other shop.

Mobile mechanics & roadside

Mobile repair, mobile tire and roadside service operators.

Typical request
$10,000 – $75,000
Finances
A second service truck built out, tooling, inventory, dispatch software, a motor-club contract ramp.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
No bays is not a problem. We underwrite the bank account, not the building. Motor-club and fleet invoices on terms may be factorable.

Fleet maintenance shops

Shops servicing delivery fleets, utilities, rental companies and municipalities under contract.

Typical request
$50,000 – $750,000
Finances
Payroll and parts between net-30 and net-45 remittances, additional bays, service trucks, taking on a larger contract.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
You are rarely short on work; you are short on timing. Factoring advances up to 90% of an approved fleet invoice within 24 hours, and a working capital advance can run alongside it. Ask for both and compare.

Independent used-car dealers

Franchise-free retail lots and small dealer groups.

Typical request
$25,000 – $500,000
Finances
Auction inventory, floor-plan payoffs and curtailments, reconditioning, a second lot, advertising.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
Approved. Many lenders decline dealers by industry code; we underwrite the bank statement like any other file. Expect us to ask about your floor-plan source and turn rate, and to structure weekly rather than daily when sales are lumpy.

Buy-here-pay-here lots

Dealers carrying their own paper.

Typical request
$50,000 – $500,000
Finances
Inventory while the note portfolio pays down, reconditioning, collections and GPS systems, a second lot.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
Approved. Your weekly or bi-weekly customer payments are deposits and count. This category is declined almost universally elsewhere; it is not declined here.

Towing & recovery

Light- and heavy-duty towing, recovery and roadside operators, often attached to a shop.

Typical request
$25,000 – $300,000
Finances
A wrecker or rollback, payroll while motor-club and municipal invoices clear, storage-lot expansion, insurance deposits.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
Approved. Motor-club, police-rotation and municipal receivables on terms are a factoring fit; retail and storage-fee deposits are underwritten as working capital.

Performance, restoration & custom

Speed shops, restoration shops, lift kits and fabrication.

Typical request
$25,000 – $250,000
Finances
Parts deposits on long builds, a dyno, a fabrication bay, payroll across a six-month restoration.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
Long builds mean customer deposits up front and lumpy final payments. We read that pattern as the shape of the business. Tell us how you take deposits and we will structure the debit around it.

Franchise service centers

Single-unit franchisees through multi-unit operators of national oil-change, tire, brake, transmission and collision brands.

Typical request
$150,000 – $5,000,000
Finances
New units, remodels and brand-mandated image upgrades, lifts and bays, acquisitions of existing units.
Cash cycle & underwriting note
Tell us the brand first. SBA Franchise Directory listing is what makes the franchise fee financeable, and it changes which product we start with.

Straight answers

Questions by shop type.

Do you fund used-car dealers and buy-here-pay-here lots?

Yes. Independent used-car dealers and buy-here-pay-here lots are approved at Liftbay Capital on the same criteria as a repair shop: $15,000 a month in business bank deposits, 6 months in business, and no minimum credit score for working capital. Many lenders decline dealers by industry code. We underwrite the bank statement.

Are the criteria different by shop type?

No. The same criteria apply to all sixteen types: $15,000 a month in business bank deposits, 6 months in business, and no minimum credit score for working capital or factoring. What changes by type is which product fits and how the payment is structured — weekly for lumpy insurer or fleet deposits, daily for high-ticket-count retail.

Do insurance and DRP payments count for a collision or glass shop?

Yes. Any carrier, DRP or third-party-administrator payment that lands in your business operating account is a deposit, and deposits are what we underwrite. A collision shop collecting most of its revenue from insurers is underwritten on its whole revenue, not just the customer deductibles that hit the card terminal.

Do you fund mobile mechanics with no shop?

Yes. We underwrite the bank account, not the building. A mobile operator depositing $15,000 a month with 6 months in business qualifies to apply on the same terms as a shop with eight bays.

My shop is dead in January and February. Does that hurt me?

Not by itself. Send four months of statements instead of three and we size the payment against your slowest month in the window rather than your average. A soft winter is the normal shape of this trade and is not a decline reason.

Your shop is on the list.

Including the categories most lenders decline. $15,000 a month, six months open, no minimum FICO for working capital.
